We begin a new moment here. I look forward in sharing the journey and the perspective that comes from it. A moment that started ten months ago, which in the natural realm has no predetermined end. Even though the journey, like most journeys comes with curves, ups and downs, together with love, respect, and the humor we so freely share, coupled with the leading and  power of the Spirit we will conquer them all.

  1. Holiday Blues….The most common symptom of the holiday blues is amplified depression. Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.

Just in the last 24 hours, I have received two separate text from two unrelated strangers, who both seemed to be experiencing early symptoms of ‘Seasonal Depression (Holiday Blues).” Common symptoms include:sadness, tiredness, trouble focusing or concentrating, unhappiness, anger, irritability frustration, loss of interest in pleasurable or fun activities, sleep issues (too much or too little), no energy, craving unhealthy foods, anxiety or isolation, just to name a few. Often time this type of blues (seasonal depression) is due to pressure of having to meet certain expectation of the holiday season, especially Christmas. Giving into the constant pressures by advertisers, family, friends, co-workers and etc., to buy certain gifts, attend parties and etc. can be a contributing factor to experiencing seasonal depression. Even if you make it through the holiday season with experiencing pre-holiday blues, you must also be careful not to fall into ‘Post-Seasonal Depression or Holiday Blues’ due to over spending and left with a lot of bills, with no way to pay them. Enjoy the holiday season, but don’t allow other people, places or things to push you into this state of being. If you have experience the Holiday Blues in the past, feel free to share your experience and maybe what you did to avoid it or what you did to come out of it.
